Director, CRI Advisory and Research, Prof. Piyush Kumar Sinha has 37 years of Advisory, Research and Training, Managerial experience in marketing, sales, retailing, service and business strategy for product as well as service companies (B2C and B2B) in the domains of Retailing and E-Commerce; Luxury and Lifestyle; Healthcare; Decision Sciences and IT. He has been involved in more than 100 advisory and training initiatives in these areas.
A Ph.D. holder in marketing, Sinha was a Professor in Retailing and Chairperson, Centre for Retailing as well as Chairperson, Department of Marketing at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), India till March 2018. Before IIMA, he taught at IIM Bangalore, XIMB and was Dean at MICA. He has published articles in International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Research, Journal of Brand Management, QMR: An International Research Journal; FQS: Forum Qualitative Sozialforschung / Forum: Qualitative Social Research [On-line Journal] and Vikalpa. He has served on the editorial board of International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences and was the Resident Editor for AMS Review. Between 1995 and 1999, he was the marketing manager for Gujarat Gas and Rasna. He has been mentor to start-ups especially in social entrepreneurship. He serves on boards of Gujarat Gas, Infibeam, Ujaas Energy and Jade Blue, and is a member of CII National Retail Committee and IRF Trusted Brand Committee.
